Timber Retaining Walls

Retaining walls can be used to create stunning outdoor settings. Wood is ideal for the job, because it is robust and adaptable. Timber is a fantastic, economical material and it can easily be linked into a fence or stairway.

Timber retaining walls are excellent in a variety of situations.

Block Retaining Walls

When building taller retaining walls, concrete retaining blocks come in handy. Additionally, they provide your yard with another feature and are useful when you need to split wood from decks or fences.

Building/Resource Consents: Be aware that you could need a building or resource consent based on the height and location of your intended retaining wall. You should always examine your local district plan, but in general, if your retaining wall is 1.5 metres high or has a building or roadway within 1.5 metres of the top of the wall, you will need permission. Go to the Auckland Council website's retaining walls section to learn more about how this can impact your project. If you need assistance with this process, we can provide it.
